How do I start to "hostess"... an Altus Book Group?
STEP 1 (usually during JULY)

DECIDE

WHERE will your Group meet? (parish, home, Heaven & Earth Gift Shop, etc).

WHEN will your Group will meet? Altus recommends monthly meetings. Example: second Tuesday of each month from 7pm-8:30 pm.

WHAT is the size of your Group? 6-8 is ideal.
SUBMIT your Group information (time, meeting location, hostess contact info) to Altus (CLICK HERE TO SEND YOUR INFORMATION!). Your Group will be listed on Altus for Women’s website to promote your Group.
STEP 2 (usually during AUGUST & SEPTEMBER)

PROMOTE your Group in your parish bulletin, on Facebook, via email, or simply by word of mouth. We provide promotional materials/blurbs for you to customize and use (click link to access).

KEEP A LIST Women who want to join your group will contact your directly. Keep contact information (email and phone #s) for group participants.

INVITE your Group to attend the Altus Book Fair in September (exact time/date/location TBD). Learn more about Altus Book Groups and browse the books we will be reading in 2020-21! **

ATTEND the Book Fair yourself. Please plan on attending this fun and informative evening! **
No Book Fair
Fall 2020!
STEP 3 (usually during OCTOBER)
BEGIN! Your Group will meet on your chosen date/time/place.
FIRST MEETING (usually in October):
ICE BREAKING & HOUSE-KEEPING
Get to know one another and take care of basic "house-keeping" tasks. Altus provides a sample agenda for this meeting. Ladies start reading the first book of the year's Altus recommended reading plan.
SECOND MEETING (usually in November):
DISCUSS
Groups discuss the first book. Altus provides a sample agenda and questions to get the discussion going!
MEETINGS CONTINUE:
December through June, continue meeting monthly (or as often as you decide), reading and discussing the Altus-recommended books!
